The German company BHS-Sonthofen will build a new manufacturing plant in the Záturecká industrial park in Haniska, near Prešov in eastern Slovakia.

Košice Airport has succeeded in an internet vote in the project of the German airline Eurowings "Vote and fly!". In the final, Košice Airport received the most votes and won over Irish Cork and German Friedrichshafen.
The German airline will fly from the end of October 2018 on a regular service from Kosice to Germany. A specific destination in Germany will be announced in the near future. Eurowings is a low cost airline that flies to more than 160 destinations in more than 50 countries.
