New investments in Šariš brewery

Asahi brewery form Japan has taken over the second largest brewery in Slovakia from previous owner SABMiller from South Africa. This company plans to invest a total of 4.4 million euros in Šariš.

Thanks to this investment, the brewery with the trade name Plzenský Prazdroj Slovakia will have a new can and filter line in a few months. The investment will also bring the development of a bottling beer line. The larger part, more than 2 million euros, will be used by the brewery to expand the production of tin cans. The installation of the new tin can production line will take place in January 2019 and will be fully operational by the end of February. Production of canned beer should be increased by up to 1/3, with a total production of 22,000 hectoliters per month.

The Šariš brewery produces not only the domestic brands like Šariš, Topvar and Smädný Mních, but also the beers of sister breweries from the Czech Republic. Especially flavored variants of Birell, Pilsner Urquell, Velkopopovický Kozel, Radegast, Gambrinus, Excellent and Kingswood cider. Drinks of the East Slovak brewery are oriented not only on the Slovak but also on the Hungarian market.
