The Age Structure of Inhabitants

What is more, in terms of inhabitant age structure, the regions of East Slovakia are not only younger than the rest of the country, but well below the EU average, which is excellent in terms of future workforce and East Slovakia’s competitiveness.

The total number of inhabitants working in Slovakia is 2,512,700, which represents 91.3 per cent of all economically active inhabitants.

Compared to the year 2008, the number of economically active Slovak inhabitants in 2016 was higher by 2.5% – in Eastern Slovakia alone, there was an increase of 6.2% in the same period.
